2014 Annual Review

 

Environment

  • Steam Cleaner purchased to assist in keeping the large hall laminated floor to a high quality of cleanliness
  • Remedial work undertaken on front steps to accommodate siting of industrial sized waste bin for ease of access at collection
  • Storage area lighting uograded in large hall
  • LED lighting installed in small hall, reduced number of lights but more economic

 

Financial

  • Grant application made to County Durham Community Foundation for support for re-roofing the large hall in Sepember - Unsuccessful
  • Service Level Agreement with Serendipity Pre-School occupancy of the small hall five days a week continues.
  • Community facilities are being extended to St Matthew & St Luke's premises costing £10,000

 

Health & Safety

  • PAT Testing undertaken for all electircal appliances
  • New external sensor light installed on north facing site of small hall
  • Large Grit storage box purchased and sited for access by occupants of both halls.
  • Regular testing of emergency lighting added to ADT account
  • 5 star status awarded by Environmental Health Officer for new Lunch Club Project

 

General

  • Joint weekly Luncheon club venture with Age UK Darlington, Darlington Memorial Hospital, St Matthew & Luke's Church volunteers and WRCC launched in September successfully
  • Website training provided
  • Booking Secretary, Barbara Waistell stepped down after nearly two years - gratefull thanks for undertaking this voluntary role and all it entails
  • Increased usage of premises for private parties on Saturdays and Sundays noted
  • Messy Play franchise booked and used premises during latter months of the year to assess take up for future sessions next year
